Viola was a Star amongst Stars.

Viola Wills (born Viola Mae Wilkerson), the American disco and pop singer has died after a long battle with cancer.

She was best known for her disco cover version of "Gonna Get Along Without You Now". Other hits included further covers of the songs, "Both Sides Now" and "If You Could Read My Mind".

Wills was married and the mother of six children when, in 1965, she was discovered by Barry White who signed her to Bronco Records and rechristened her with the shorter stage surname of Wills.

She started her career at the Los Angeles Conservatory of Music and, over the following years, in addition to working with White, also performed with Joe Cocker, Smokey Robinson and many other established recording artists of the era.

Viola always made time for her fans, many of them who became good friends with her.

Viola gave so much to this life, and asked for so little in return.

Viola leaves behind six children - Vincent, Christopher, Regina, La Donna, David and Rejal, 21 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Viola was just 69 years old.

Viola's favourite saying to her family was always "Aim for the sky and always dare to dream"

On Viola's behalf her family wish a special heartfelt thanks to all of Vi's fans over the years, whom, Vi always said, allowed her dreams to come true.

God Bless Viola, her family and friends around the world.

Why ?

Why do people forget ?
.
In a sometimes selfish world, we are too busy to spend a bit of our time remembering good people that are no longer with us.
Viola was one of those good people who had an amazing God given talent.
Sometimes she could be difficult like any of us, but she fought for what she believed in. She had millions of fans, and thousands of friends around the world.
Where are they now ?.

For someone who gave so much to this world, its a poor show that artistes friends and fans have not done more in her memory.

Any ideas for a memorial night in Viola's honour, please get in touch.

Miss you Vi.

DO YOU FEEL THE NEED TO TALK XXX

Do you ever sit in an empty room
do you appreciate an open bloom
do you smell it's sweet perfume

Do you feel the need to 'talk out loud'
but theres no one there to hear
do you hear a voice call out your name
so close up to your ear

Have you ever felt a sudden chill pas by
and the hair on your neck stands up
have you gone to pour a cup of tea
but someone's moved your cup

Do you believe in angels
do they make you smile
have you felt one on each shoulder
as you walk that long wiery mile

Do you know that all these things
are messages to you
do you believe that they exist
i'll tell you.....YES THEY DO

RIP

We lost a wonderful singer with a incredible voice! I am deeply sad with her death! I am a huge fan!

I am glad I had a chance to see her live at Roseland in NYC in mid 90's.

RIP Viola! I love you!
